What is the best certification for a dog trainer?? CPDT, CDT, IACP or another?
It doesn’t much matter. Each school, K9 college, franchise dog training business, and chain pet trainers will offer some sort of certification that they’ve concocted….none of which mean anything other than you’ve paid for their course and followed their program. The best thing to have is the experience of training hundreds of dogs.

E.X.P.E.R.I.E.N.C.E. It has more letters thus it’s more important, unfortunatly you don’t get a piece of papper and you can’t shell out a bunch of money and automaticly get it.

I could care less what letters or papers or certifications a trainer has.
I want to see the titles that dogs they have trained hold.
I want to spend time with their personal dogs or dogs that belong to their clients and see first hand how well behaved they are.
I want to see them work several dogs in what ever thing the dog has been trained for.
Then if their personality fits well with me and their training methods fit my dogs personality well I would use them.
