One of dog obedience trainer jobs is knowing how can one gain power over an unruly dog and turn it into a passive, do anything for you dog. I will admit there is a certain amount of patience and attitude required when working with a dog that shows aggression. It was believed at one time that a person had to have a special gift to train dogs to be obedient. Well this is not true. A dog is by most accounts a placid animal, but like all animals they should be treated with respect. They do not like surprises sprung on them, like when a child jumps at it face on, or if someone plays too roughly with it, or attempts to approach it with two hands aiming at it’s face. If one tries to show affection in any of these ways the dog will become defensive and frightened and will naturally want to defend itself.
When a dog is on a lead he feels vulnerable and is a little bit more edgy. You will notice this when they see another dog approaching, straight away the dog will begin a defensive positioning which, more than likely will be to get closer to you by moving behind you. He is telling you that he is not comfortable with this dogs approach and wants you to help protect him. This is where training comes into play. As a dog obedience trainer this is the time when you take a commanding role and show him that you will not let this other dog attack him. You do this by showing firmness to both dogs. You let them know it is you who are in control of the situation and are ready for anything. Once both dogs are assured then you will find there will be no altercation.
Like I have said previously, it is not terribly difficult to train a dog. Dog obedience trainers use certain techniques and tones, they also use a certain look to show the dog that they really mean business and will not tolerate any aggression. They will also use a little reward system for every time the dog does what he is told they will reward it with either a little tasty morsel, or with a soft assuring tone as he speaks to the dog. There are myriads of dog training books and dog training DVD out there explaining what type of approach to take when training your dog. I would advise everyone who wants to train their dog to go the E Book route. This method is by far the best way of learning how to become master over your dog. Start teaching your dog obedience training now and you will see he has a whole different personality.. and is only willing to please you.
There is nothing like having a pet. Particularly dogs, they are the most loyal and trusting animal of all other animals, in my opinion. They sit half sleeping, and half awake, just waiting for you to make a move, and once you get out of your chair or put on your walking shoes and coat, they are up and ready to go. They can be excellent guard dogs, and many a life has been saved when they barked to warn the occupants that there is a fire in the house. Then of course there are the dogs for the blind that was train by special guide dog trainer , what an amazing role in society they perform. As a dog obedience trainer maybe you need to consider dog training certification.

Dog training certification is the accrediting documentation of the education, field experience and animal behavioral skills of the professional dog trainer. Until recently there were no nationally recognized standards for dog trainers.
Organizations such as The International Association of Canine Professionals, the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and The Professional Association of Applied Canine Trainers have since adopted uniform standards and a code of ethics with slightly varying requirements. Many professionals choose to obtain dog training certification from each of these professional organizations.
Dog training certification organizations share some common goals:
- To develop an independent system of professional proficiency standards based on sound animal behavioral science. Many past training techniques have since been discredited as inhumane, relying on punishment or too much negative reinforcement to “break the will” of the animal to achieve obedience. Modern dog training focuses on positive reinforcement, understanding dog psychology and using the dog’s natural instincts to help the dog learn acceptable behavior.
- To promote minimal required educational standards and foster continuing research into the field of animal behavioral science while acknowledging the gained field experience of lay professional dog trainers with the intent to share the best practices among all accredited dog trainers.
- To compile empirical accreditation documentation and adoption of the latest techniques and strategies in dealing with “problem cases” and promote the adoption of these developing tactics via continuing education courses and periodic recertification exams.
- Insure minimal base level proficiency of all accredited members through comprehensive professional testing, peer reviews, case studies results, letters of reference and field proven trials. Evidenced experience and years in the professional dog training field are weighted on a case by case basis.
What are the benefits of dog training certification to the trainer and the general public?
For the dog trainer the benefits include additional educational resources at their disposal, higher perceived status by the public from the professional accreditation, enhanced networking with like-minded dog trainers, veterinarians, animal behavior researchers and other field professionals with access to related conferences and leading edge research workshops that used by some dog training schools.
For the public the benefits include an ability to easily identify a soundly qualified professional dog trainer who has dedicated themselves to adherence to a high standard of professionalism and ethics. With so many confusing and conflicting animal behavior-based training theories available the public can assured the professionals who have met the dog training certification qualifications will perform their services to the highest standards of excellence.
So for those who want to pursue a professional dog trainer then go to some dog trainer school to get certified and recognise as a certified dog trainer.

Whether

weeks at a dog training school, simply for the socialization aspect that the
school offers. Some schools only offer specific dog training services, while
others only use certain training methods. Some dog training schools have
experienced trainers and others are only just starting up. Know your dog breed:
Before you select your dog training school, it is important that you really
know your dog breed. Every breed responds to training differently and it will
affect the method that you train your dog with.

your breed will help you in finding the perfect training method and that will
quickly narrow down your selection of dog training schools. If you find at any

solely on the references provided by the dog training schools. Instead, take
the time to do a little internet research for past clients of the dog training
school and to also ask your vet or other pet owners if they have heard
anything, good or bad, about the dog training schools you are looking into. The
last tip that I am going to mention when you are selecting a dog training
school is to really know what you want from training. If you want basic
training, you will actually have a larger selection of dog training schools
then if you want a specific type of training such as agility training. Once you
know where you want to go with your dog`s training, you can quickly find out
which dog training schools offer which training and narrow down your search so
you have the best match for both you and your dog.

Maybe you’ve even taken to walking your dog at night when no neighbors are out because you simply cant control him when people and other dogs are around. An unruly dog could bite a neighbor or child causing you legal problems. If your dog barks a lot or gets loose all the time you may even find yourself in trouble with the police. And most importantly, if your dog will not come when called, you have limited methods to keep him out of harms way. You dont have to resign yourself to thinking your dog will never behave and in, fact you owe it to yourself and your pet to do everything you can to get him trained properly.
A dog obedience school trainer will show you how to communicate with your dog to get him to listen to you. Hell learn how to behave around people as well as other dogs and the basic commands such as down, sit, stay, and heel. Picking a dog obedience school is kind of like choosing a school for your kids – you want to be sure to send him to the right one. Of course, since you will probably be attending as well you want one that works for the both of you so you need to do a little research before you settle on the school. You need to see which facility that the school has and programs for your dog.
You should have a list of basic questions you can ask about the school and the outcome of the dogs training. If you get positive answers then you may have found your school, otherwise, its time to move on to the next choice. One thing to consider when researching dog obedience schools is a reference from others who have attended the school. Perhaps you have a friend, co-worker or neighbor you can ask? If not you can ask the school for references and phone someone who has been through the program.
Another thing you want to do when narrowing down your choice of dog training schools is to visit the campus. Just like picking a college, you want to be sure that the school offers a good environment. Make sure the school seems well organized and the trainers are knowledgeable. Also, you will probably want a friendly environment where your dog (and you) feel comfortable.
Your training will be much more successful if both you and your dog are comfortable with the dog trainer. Talking to the dog trainers at the school is also a good idea. Find out about the methods that each instructor uses and you might even introduce them to your dog to be sure they will get along.
Dog obedience school can be a great way to turn your unruly pet into a great companion that will not embarrass you in social situations and you can really take anywhere you want. The whole training process can help you bond with your dog and truly help him be your best friend.

K9 training is about train your dog to obey your orders. In the past the main use for a dog was to help humans in their hunt for food, humans have been training dogs to carry out tasks for them since prehistoric times. until now, human still train dogs to hunt and catch small animals such as rabbits and hares, and also to track larger prey which the dog would either bring to bay to be finally killed by its master, or would chase towards a party of men who would then dispatch the larger animal. Most of us need trained dogs to be our partner.
Through time dogs were found to be useful for other tasks, apart from hunting, such as herding sheep that draws on the animal’s natural hunting instinct, and to guard their owners’ property. As the training of our K9 friend became more sophisticated they were put to a variety of uses such as law enforcement and leading the blind through unfamiliar territory. Our dog training schools will train every dogs to be usefull for their master as a guidance or protector or even a cute pet.
Dogs are now used as pets as well as put to work, and even a pet K9 benefits from good and strict training that enables them to become a member of the family and society in which they live. Before undertaking the training of a dog it is essential that the owner learns something about their psychology and the way that dogs socialize with their own species in the wild. The training of a dog is not as simple as teaching it tricks or how to obey instructions by the sound of your voice, but is more of a social conditioning. So every dogs owner should know their dogs first before they sent their dogs into dog training schools.
Dogs are pack animals, as anybody that has seen films of wild dogs hunting will understand. The secret in training a dog to become a well behaved member of your family is to show the dog that you are the leader of the pack that your dog belongs to. This leader is called the alpha, and the alpha leads the pack in everything that it does. All other animals obey the alpha, and the job of the trainer is to communicate to the animal that he or she is the alpha and must be obeyed. Wolves are a species of K9, and everybody understands that wolves hunt in packs. So at K9 training we show who is the alpha so the dogs would obey to it’s masters.
Once your dog understands who is the alpha, then they will obey you. Assuming that it understands the instruction being given. If you continue to give your dog an instruction that it does not understand it will become frustrated and might vent that frustration as anger or aggression, just as humans do. However, if you understand its psychology, you will be able to teach your dog what is acceptable behavior and what is not, and also how to behave in certain situations. For example the dog will be trained to understand that your home is not a toilet, and that it is not to sit on your favorite chair, and so on. The benefits of this type of training go far beyond simply having a dog that obeys you and that can ‘do tricks’. I know it’s fun if you have obedience dogs at home, as they will protect you and your family.
A well trained dog will form a lifelong bond with its owner, and will be able socialize as part of your family. A well trained K9 is one that understands its place in your society, and it is happier knowing this. Dogs that get conflicting signals, and that are not given a clear lead by the alpha (you) become confused and consequently misbehaved. When the dog instinctively follows your lead and your instructions it is not only seen as a being well behaved, but is also a happy dog.
However, an owner that understands this K9 characteristic will tend to own a dog that is less liable to become aggressive in certain situations because they can foresee the possible result of specific situations into which a dog can be put. It is important when training a dog to understand that they become afraid of what they do not understand, and become fearful when their routine is changed. A part of their K9 training, then, should be to introduce them to a number of different environments and different people so that are less liable to come across change.
Another aspect of K9 Training is exercise. A healthy dog needs a lot of exercise and a dog kept locked in a house all day can become very stressed and extremely difficult to train properly. It will also become bored, and be difficult to control. Keep in mind that dogs are dogs, and should be allowed to be dogs now and again. Also keep in mind that your dog’s pack is your family, and you should expect it to be jealous of any newcomers to your family. On the other hand, a well trained dog with plenty of exercise will be well behaved. The dog will need to be trained to accept a new baby for example.
If you take the time to train your K9 friend properly, you will have a healthy and happy dog that will be able to socialise and live with your family with any problems. It is when the dog is ignored and lacks exercise and attention, or when it does not understand your instructions, that it can become ‘bad’. A ‘bad’ dog is indicative of a bad owner.
The benefits of K9 training combine to give you a lifelong companion that will not only be faithful to you and your family, but that will also be happy and easily controllable wherever you take it.
